Frequently asked questions
Are pets allowed?
Yes, we welcome well-behaved dogs with a €15/night supplement and prior approval. We do not allow cats out of respect for allergic guests.
Two important conditions. Your dog cannot be left alone in the apartment: in an unfamiliar house animals get anxious and may cause damage. And your dog cannot come into the common areas or the pool, because not all of our guests travel with animals.
How far is the city of León?
10 minutes by car from the city of León via the N-601 (Villafañe exit), with easy access via the A-60 motorway too.
Is it easy to park? Do I have to pay?
Very easy and free. You park on the street right next to the accommodation — no paid zones or car parks. It is not a private car park, but as it is a small, quiet village there is always plenty of room and it is very safe.
Do I need a car? How do I get here?
Coming by car is the most convenient way: you are 10 minutes from León via the N-601 (Villafañe exit), with easy access from the A-60 motorway. Having a car lets you explore León, Mansilla de las Mulas, the Camino and the surrounding villages at your own pace. We send you the exact location for your GPS.
Do you allow stag or hen parties?
We do not host stag or hen parties. We do accept private events with full-complex rental on request.
When do the common areas (garden, cellar) and the Loto house open?
The shared common areas —garden with the Buddha, courtyard with numbered pergolas, tables and benches —one for each apartment—, shared cellar, jacuzzi and pool— are open within usage hours. The 4 · Loto house is in preparation and will open soon — join the waitlist to be among the first to know. Apartments 1, 2 and 3 are fully operational right now.
Are there stairs in the apartments? What if someone has reduced mobility?
Apartment 1 · Lila is on the ground floor, with no stairs: it is the one we recommend for anyone walking with a stick or who would rather avoid steps. Apartments 2 · Rosa and 3 · Lavanda are on the first floor, up a flight of stairs, and there is no lift. There are no steps at the entrance to any of them, and all three bathrooms have a walk-in shower with a screen.
We are not set up for wheelchairs: not because of steps, but because the doorways and the space inside are too narrow. We would rather say so before you book. If you have any doubts about this, write to us and we will tell you exactly what to expect.
Is the pool open all year?
Yes. The pool is shared by all guests and open all year round. That said, it is not heated: the water temperature depends on the weather, so during the colder months swimming may not be enjoyable. The peak summer months are the best time for a swim.
Swimming hours are 10:15 AM to 10:00 PM, respecting quiet hours from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The jacuzzi is also outdoors and unheated: in cold weather it may be completely unusable.
How do the common areas work (pool, jacuzzi, garden, cellar)?
They are shared common areas for all guests of the complex. The pool, the garden and the cellar are open within set hours. The jacuzzi does not require a booking: it runs on an automatic timer, switching on every so often and turning off by itself. As it is shared, other guests may be using it. We explain the facility schedules at check-in.
Is a deposit required?
Yes, €50 per person, paid before you arrive by Bizum or bank transfer: that is what lets us send you the door code so you can walk in whenever you like. No Bizum? Message us and we will send you the account details. Cash only when there is no other way, arranged beforehand. For stays longer than 10 days it is €400 per apartment. It is returned in full after the apartment is checked, when there are no incidents.
Do you offer early-booking discounts?
Yes. By booking more than 50 days in advance you get a better price plus a welcome basket with seasonal local León products. Message us with your dates and we will confirm the offer.
Are there any festivals or events in the village?
Villafañe celebrates its patron saint festivals on May 8-10 and July 18-21. Music, fairs and dancing in the square and the football field — an authentic León village experience. If you want to coincide, book early.
